Spirometry is a test that assesses lung function. It turns out to be very important in the follow-up of patients with chronic lung diseases, such as pulmonary fibrosis or COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
It can also be used to assess the degree of respiratory functional impairment in infectious diseases or ongoing allergy/asthma patients. This will improve the specificity and effectiveness of the treatment.
What is it about?
It consists in taking breaths within a probe connected to a computer. We will have important data on respiratory functionality.
