Ultrasound

Details

Ultrasound, or ultrasonography, is a non-invasive technique that uses ultrasound to assess internal organs.

The operation is based on the ultrasound echo principle, in particular the fact that the sound waves are transmitted and “reflected” in a different way depending on the density of the tissue. The result is a grey scale image, which can be a diagnostic tool of extreme importance if used by experienced doctors.

This method is one of the diagnostic cornerstones at Ortho-Bio-Med, and it is used during the first visit.

It allows us to obtain valuable information about the structure and shape of different organs, such as:

– Thyroid: hashimoto’s thyroiditis, goiter

– Jars Neck: Carotid stenosis

– Liver: steatosis, cysts

– Reni: dilations, cysts

– Spleen: increase in volume as a result, for example, of infectious processes

– Bladder: polyps

– Ovaries: cysts

– Prostate: prostatic hypertrophy

It is also useful for the evaluation of muscle and joint structures.

This test is painless and has no side effects.
